What is your favorite color?

I asked that question and his response was "I'd have to say purple and black". After hearing that I was on a mission.  LOL  Believe it or not, I remember designing this card in my mind instantly.  Everyone knows I have an obession with Copics markers. I have over 70 markers now!!   Check out my latest creation.  



Isn't she a hottie???  This by far pushed my creativity out of my little comfort zone. Skin tones aren't as easy as they look. Several reprints and do-overs later this is the end result, a birthday card.  My hard work paid off, because the smile on HIS face and that mischievous chuckle was {priceless}!

As you can see the black layer is embossed. (Gotta love my Sizzix Big Kick!) And if you look close, image layer is popped up using pop up dots. Did you know they make black ones??? < LOL I'm telling you, I have WAY more stuff in my stash than I'll ever use. But it's always fun pulling out new things.   Pattern Paper is American Crafters Boo!, and the rhinestones are Queen & Co.

Crafters vs. Non-Crafters... What's the Difference??

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm just waking up and for once it doesn't feel like hell has caught on fire! In case you didn't know, I live in {Texas}.  For those of you that have never had the pleasure of visiting, DO NOT!!  LOL... at least not during the months of June or July, or August. Then again one year it was almost 90 degrees at Christmas!

So, I'm sure by now you're wondering, "What's the difference between a Crafter and a Non-Crafter?".  Besides the obvious, one crafts, one doesn't. Well DUH!  That was too easy.  This is what I have observed in recent years.  Crafters love the following stores:  Michael's, JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby, and A.C. Moore.  Crafters are on their mailing lists, we get coupons and probably know the layout of our local stores with our eyes closed.  Crafters bond instantly with another crafter when you use the words, "Cricut, Stickles, Distressed and or Cardstock".   Crafting is a sisterhood and in some cases a brotherhood of creativity.

Then you have the Non-Crafter (NCs).  These are the people that go into the above mentioned stores and pay FULL PRICE for everything, unless they happen to grab something on sale.  Full Price?? WOE (what on earth) is that??? LOL....  NCs receive handcrafted cards then throw them out like cheap Dollar Tree cards, days later.  ARE YOU SERIOUS???  They don't appreciate the hard work and thought that goes into their "handmade" goodies.  NCs, you all need to wake-up and see what you're getting is far more precious than the Hallmark card with all the rhyming words.

Below is a Get Well card that I made for a family member that just had surgery.  You'd have to know this person to know this card was PERFECT for her!

A Crafters response... "WOW!" or "Nice coloring" or "That is too cute".

Non-Crafter response, "You did all of that for a card?" "All the time it took you to do that, you could have just ordered flowers online."  -- LOL, that one made me laugh, but my most favorite response was sent to me via text message that simply said, "Ok".


Well, no matter what a NC may say, not say or think, I do this because it's something that I enjoy.  Everyone has a God given talent be it singing or dancing, mine just happens to be crafting.  I plan to use this gift to it's fullest, as much as I can, whenever I can.

Ahhh... COPICS!

Good Morning everybody! 

Okay... I slept well and woke up VERY refreshed and what did I do???  I'm up and blogging! -- LOL   Thought I was going to say I made something, huh?  NOT... at least not this early!  I did however color a cute little stamp the other day at work.  (Yes, at work)  There was nothing for me to do so... what a perfect time for Copic practice. 

Are you reading this and thinking what are Copics? My thought is "Where on earth have you been??" However, if you aren't a crafter. ((LOL @ "not a crafter") Copics are markers. Wait... they aren't just any marker... they are like the Cricut Expression of die cutting machines or as I explained to a guy friend... Copics are like a Bentley and Crayola markers are like a Yugo. (remember that little car)  LOL.... Anyways, I'm NOT endorsing Copics in any, way, shape or form unless of course they'd like to send me 334 sketch markers.  Oh, as I was saying they are cool markers see here for yourself.

I just thought of something! (Actually I thought of it when I started this posting but my mind went in a different direction once I looked at my bag of Copics sitting on the table) For every FIVE (5) new followers, I'll randomly pick a person, then send them a small Thank You gift.  Now there's only one small rule. Please see the fine print at the end of this entry!
